Photo Facials (Photo rejuvenation)Photo rejuvenation is a process which uses intense pulse light (IPL) to treat pigmented & vascular lesions for overall improvement in skin tone. Pulsed light systems are similar to lasers. However, they have a larger beam for wider coverage & faster, more comfortable treatments.
Laser Spider Vein RemovalSpider veins most commonly occur on the legs. They may also occur on the face, particularly around the nose. Intense pulsed light (IPL) is usually used for facial vessels. We utilize the Palomar laser which is ideal for targeting spider veins on the legs. The light pulses from the laser heat the blood within the leg veins. The heat from the laser or IPL causes the vessel to constrict & eventually fade from view.
Acne Treatment w/ Special IPLCystic or bacterial acne may be the result of an over-production of bacteria within the follicle/pore. The bacteria flourish in warm, humid environments & can be difficult to treat. Mainstays of treatment are oral & topical antibiotics, benzoyl peroxide, specific peels, & an assortment of other prescription, over the counter, & media advertised products. The Palomar Violet IPL delivers a specific wavelength of light which targets the bacteria responsible for cystic or pustular acne. This is a unique treatment for those who have tried the other available treatments w/ unsatisfactory response
Skin TighteningThe Palomar Lux IR handpiece delivers infrared light deep into the dermis. This light causes soft tissue coagulation which leads to remodeling of the collagen within the dermis. The remodeled collagen results in overall skin tightening.
The Lux IR Fractional method is much safer & more comfortable than the bulk heating approach of many other systems because it leaves so much of the skin unaffected by the light pulses.
Our Lux IR uses 3-stage cooling. It cools the skin before, during, & after each light pulse, so that there is very little discomfort.
Hair ReductionOur Palomar system for hair reduction uses intense pulsed light (IPL) which covers a wider area of skin & allows for faster coverage of the treatment area than most lasers. Pulses of light are absorbed by pigment in the hair follicle which creates heat in the follicle. The heat then loosens the hair & disables the stem cells responsible for growing new hair. Any area of the body can be treated, except around the eyes.
BOTOX® CosmeticBotox cosmetic use is the single most common aesthetic procedure performed in men & women in the U.S.. Botox is most often used to soften deep wrinkles in the upper face caused by the muscles of expression, especially those which show concern, anger, unhappiness & pleasure. For example, some people squint as a habit, or because they don’t wear sunglasses (golfers), which causes the “crow’s feet” beside the eyes. Others wrinkle their brows in different ways as a habit of expression which causes deeper & more permanent grooves in the forehead.
Contrary to some misconceptions, Botox does not cause a “frozen face” appearance. It may result in some real changes in the deep lines seen in some individuals. Effects of Botox usually last 3-4 months. There have been studies which report that regular use results in longer lasting effects. Overall, Botox cosmetic is extremely safe. Adverse effects are usually mild & transient.
