I had a great experience at Mintons my consultant Bonnie helped me find my perfect wedding gown. The staff was very helpful and friendly I recommend Minton's and Bonnie to all my friends and family.

Great Place

I recently got my wedding dress at Minton's and had a great experience. Bonnie helped pull dresses that she thought would flatter my figure and also allowed me to pull dresses that I liked. She was very helpful and the dress I got was one that she picked out. She does give her honest opinion, but also lets you make your own decisions. I did not have to deal with the ordering issues others had mentioned because they were not doing any special orders, just selling the dresses on the floor.

I went to David's Bridal to try other dresses before going back to purchase my wedding dress from Bonnie, and she was not pushy when we told her we wanted to look elsewhere before deciding. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend anyone going there.

HORRIBLE!

I agree with the other posts... Stay away from Bonnie!

I purchased my wedding gown from Minton's after looking at many other stores and not finding a dress that I liked. But it was almost as if after they got the money for my dress purchase that they could just treat me and my bridesmaids like dirt.... They have been extremely rude to me and my entire Bridal party. They have over charged my bridesmaids for their dresses (Bonnie quoted me one price, then charged my bridesmaids another price), and keep on adding in other expenses to my dress... Not to mention the outrageous charges for alterations! One of my bridesmaids only had about 1/2" taken up on the halter neck of her dress and it was $75! The other bridesmaids are taking their dresses to local alterations places... and for major alterations only paying at most $30.

And Bonnie has no idea what she is talking about...Everytime you talk to her she will tell you something different... She will do whatever she can to get your money... If you do go there just make sure you get documentation on EVERYTHING, because Bonnie will throw in extra bras and slips or whatever she can on to your order without you even knowing it... And she will not back down on giving your money back for things you did not order... And make sure they have the right wedding date on file. Every time I went in or called they had a different date on file for me, eventhough I gave them the right wedding date 4 times- and the wrong wedding date on file leads to them telling the wrong date that bridesmaids dress orders are due. Incase you can't tell I have had lots of problems with Minton's... and the sad part is, that is not even half of the problems I have had with them!

Mintons has a good selection of dresses but trust me, it's not worth the headache they will cause you in the long run!

STAY AWAY!!

STAY AWAY!! Particularly stay away from the saleslady named Bonnie, she's horrible, she is incredibly deceptive, and will intentionally order dresses in the wrong size so that you have to pay for alterations.

I have dealt with them once as a bride (though I didn't get my wedding dress from them thank god) and twice as a bridesmaid. Its been a horrible experience every time.

They will lie to you about how long it takes to get dresses in, and will convince you to order your dresses months and months in advance so they can sit on your money and collect interest. Total scam there.

Forget customer service too... I have, on more than one occasion been left standing at the counter, when I was trying to pay them for a dress, while they decide to take prolonged telephone calls. Then again I've also been left on hold for a half hour when I tried to pay them over the phone for a dress.

Do yourself a favor go down the street to House of Brides(still a pain but less so than Mintons), or go to the Holiday for your bridesmaids dresses (the service there is AMAZING there)

• Pros: I don't think they've ever actually beaten anyone to death there
• Cons: Horrible customer service, horrible salespeople, expect to wait 6 months to get anything

Very beautiful dresses

The dresses were by far the prettiest dresses I have seen in Mobile. My bridal consultant Bonnie was very helpful, and knew exactly what looked good on me and what wouldn't. The dress that I ended up getting was one that she picked up. I don't understand why their has been so many bad reviews on mintons. I would highly recommend any bride to look for their wedding dress at mitons. The staff is wonderful and the dresses are breathtaking.

Nice enough formal shop

Gowns were plentiful but not in protective bags so they were all showing evidence of this. VERY small crowded store with somewhat pushy salespeople who barge in the extremely small dressing room with you! If I want help, I'll ask. Prices were OK, cheaper on the internet, but nice to see the gown first. Location is a nightmare to exit from.
